SHAME TRUTHS

The word of God states that "truth" is the ingredient needed to make your life free (John 8:32). The following truths about shame will assist you in releasing the bondage that can stop you from moving forward in the things of God.

  • You must be healed to function as a child of God.
  • Sin sends you into shame.
  • You must get the diagnosis of shame before you can find the cure.
  • Your values determine your choices.
  • Suicide is a result of your belief that you have no value.
  • There is more than one way to kill yourself.
  • Titles are a form of external security.
  • Words and actions are triggers of shame.
  • Hatred can be the product of shame which can bond you to bad experiences and the person who hurt you.
  • Wrong conclusions lead to wrong decisions, and wrong decisions lead to a wrong destination.
  • If you cannot take correction from a spiritual parent, you will not mature spiritually.
  • Shame robs you of your real personality.
  • Shame dishonors, disgraces and devalues you.
  • Shame causes you to over react and "make a mountain out of a mole hill"( excess drama).
  • Shame is a place of isolation and desolation.
  • The devil gave you the thought, he left, but you kept the thought.

Scriptures

to live by and

Remain shame free

"As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us". Psa. 103:12

"I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee". Isa. 44:22

"...but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus". Phil 3:13-14

So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, "Escape for your life!  Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain".  Gen 19:17

You need to believe in your heart the words of Paul in the scripture above, Philippians 3:13-14. It is important that you forget those things behind you, and start reaching for those things ahead of you. If God can toss your sins into the sea of forgetfulness, then you need to forget them as well.

You need to take the same advise that was given to Lots family from the angel of God. "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you."  Your life is not behind you. Your life is before you.

HOW TO BE HEALED FROM SHAME

SPIRITUAL TRUTHS:

God won't heal what you won't reveal

  • Everybody needs "God Structure" (a place of safety and security).
  • Everybody needs an internal structure (you have to be settled in your true identity).
  • God saves you on the inside and the evidence shows on the outside.
  • The Lord loves you unconditionally and you must accept his love because it declares your value.
  • Your value is the sum of the life of Jesus.
  • You need to learn to say, "I am okay because I am a child of God.
  • Change your way of thinking and you will turn from darkness (devil's thoughts) to light (Jesus' thoughts).
  • Ask God to place you with a spiritual mother and/or father to help you to mature in the things of God.
  • You must go to a place called Gilgal (to roll the shame away; a place to heal) Joshua 4:195:12
  • Allow the light of truth to bring healing to your heart.
  • Understanding that God the Father has already proved your value.
  • Recognize that Jesus is your salvation from shame, and you are accepted by the Father.
  • Believe that Jesus accepts you.
  • Envision yourself free from shame and press toward that mark and don't look back.
  • Keep your focus on your life that is before you, because looking back stops your forward progress.
  • Understanding that it does not matter where you came from; what matters is where you are going.
  • You will be healed in your going. (Luke 17:14)
